Product image 1

Encino Lettuce

Huge, fine heads of buttery, lightly savoyed leaves.

Dense heads feature lightly serrated, wavy leaves with slightly blanched centers. In trials, Encino showed exceptional sweetness and a buttery texture, forming larger heads and demonstrating better resistance to bottom rot than Panisse. High Mowing is proud to be the exclusive producer of organic seed for this variety through a partnership with Vitalis Organic Seeds. A portion of sales from this variety is paid to the breeder. Available as raw or pelleted seed.

High Mowing’s International Sales Manager, Paul, says: “I love everything about Encino. I plant it out through the whole season and am able to harvest it every week. It has amazing resistance to bottom rot, which is so important because this type of lettuce sits flat on the ground.”
